Airdate: Singing Bee, Dirty Jobs, The Gift

Channel Nine’s much-hyped new game show The Singing Bee will premiere 6:30pm Sunday October 7.

Joey Fatone will be in Australia next week to record the first episodes of the show in which contestants are challenged to remember word-perfect lyrics to songs.

It will be followed by the premiere of Dirty Jobs at 7pm with the return to television of Jo Beth Taylor. She joins Ben Dark looking at occupations involving “ear cleaners, rat catchers and tip scavengers.” They got that title right!

Meanwhile The Gift premieres on Thursday October 11 at 9:30pm. This medical series looks at organ donation in Australia.

Finally, Nine will not be screening RFDS: Royal Flying Doctor Service or 1 vs 100 on Monday October 8 when it airs the movie My Big, Fat Greek Wedding.

  1. ‘Dirty Jobs’, ‘The Singing Bee’, ‘Just for Laughs, ‘Comerical breakdown’ – What is nine thinking, honestly?

    What happened to quality programming.

  2. “Singing Bee’ at Sunday 60 seems wasted. I would have a thought a more prime sot during the week.

Nine already is very strong Sudays with “60 Minutes” and “CSI” big enough to win the night for them.

And “Bee” into “Dirty Jobs” – again seems a waste.

“Dirty Jobs”??/ God who wants to wath a depressing show like that after all the fun of Bee!

  3. Burke’s Spring Special was just that, a special, as Nine wanted to see how it was received before committing to a series.

It did very well, with 1.5m viewers, but deceptively, it was off the back of NRL, so hardly a typical Sunday. Nevertheless a strong showing.
