WIN dumps Nine for Seven in SA

WIN TV has dumped its programming deal with the Nine Network in regional South Australia, and will instead broadcast Seven programming.

The move is seen as part of WIN’s ongoing battle with the Nine affiliation deal, which has seen it drop key Nine programmes including Mornings with Kerri Anne and The Catch Up earlier this year.

It is an enormously significant move by WIN.

WIN CEO George Papadopoulos said “Seven’s new and regular programs have been going from strength to strength and the Network’s commitment to Australian produced entertainment such as City Homicide, All Saints, Dancing With the Stars, It Takes Two, Kath & Kim, Australia’s Got Talent, Border Security and Home & Away is unmatched.”

“We’re very pleased to deliver these programs to our regional South Australian viewers.”

WIN’s commitment to local news will continue. Metropolitan broadcasting in Adelaide, where WIN owns the Nine affiliate, is unchanged.

The programming change is expected to take effect in October.
