Now she’s officially known as Kylie Minogue O.B.E.

The Queen has awarded Minogue, 39, an OBE in her New Year’s Day honours list.

Minogue overcame cancer in 2005, inspiring thousands of women to have breast cancer checks. Said to be spending the holiday season with family in Melbourne, she has also recently starred in the Doctor Who xmas special in the UK.

As widely reported, Michael Parkinson has been knighted. His final chat show will air in Australia next month.

Other entertainers honoured include Sir Ian McKellan (Companion of Honour) and actress Julie Walters (C.B.E.).

As for Dannii Minogue, her appearance on The X Factor was so successful, that John Barrowman wants her to mirror her big sister’s path and appear on Torchwood!

  1. Yes! She’s a bit of an attention whore now with the media. I don’t care if she attended some fashion show in London the night before, or that she has a new boyfriend from some foreign country. It was the same away with Delta Goodrem – The media cling on to their every move make them out to be these amazing inspirational people that they aren’t.

  2. Anon, I agree!!! I do like her music but it seem post cancer patients are pain in the asses, esp DELTA G! I cannot stand how she talks now. But yes, Kylie is a PITA as well. The Queen should have demanded “Off with her head!” Just 200 years too late.

  3. Am I one of the few australians find Kylie Minogue annoying, she can’t sing and indeed when she overcame cancer i did feel for her, but now she’s just so annoying now…
