Big Brother 2008 begins its online voting from Friday December 7.

Here is a promo reel of what’s in store as part of the new process. The top 3 voted applicants are guaranteed a place in the house. The next 50 will proceed to a second chance.

Amongst some of the hopefuls is a guy who says, “I’m a real man, I don’t cry, I don’t hug other blokes, I don’t ear hair gel, I don’t wear pink.” Another says, “I’m sort of homophobic maybe a little bit.” In contrast, there’s a M2F transgender too.

“You need someone to keep it real, man and that’s just what I’m gonna do man,” says yet another.

The promo also includes a ‘princess’ who says “it’s my way or the highway,” a 33yo bloke who lives with his parents, and a clairvoyant.

And a guy who says he will stay up “25/7.”

Some other contestants have also added their reels to YouTube.

  1. As 3 of the roles and the remaining are short listed, in many ways the audience gets the housemates it deserves this year. If you don’t want yobbos, don’t vote for them?

  2. Crap, I bet they pull the series mid way through the year, if this is the quality….. who wants to watch your run of the mill slobs and yobbos – no thanks

  4. After a lazy BB07 (at least the first half) I’m actually looking forward to 2008’s revamp. The auditions so far seem a little lackluster so hope people are inspired to do better with their submissions.

    Let’s hope they deliver a more varied selection of housemates – which is what fans have been asking for some time!
