Cane gets a Burn Notice

Cane is another victim in TEN’s summer programming, after last week’s episode appears to have been its last. It was aptly titled “All Bets Are Off.”
The drama was due to be replaced this week with the legal series Conviction but that was similarly shelved, in favour of a repeat of the Jim Carrey movie, Liar Liar.
Cane joins Psych as hanging in limbo. Neither seem part of the network’s 2008 slate, nor yet appearing on the TEN HD network. Journeyman, which fell off the analogue channel moved across to HD.
Meanwhile TEN must have a lot of faith with Burn Notice adding it to their ratings programming. Last week it premiered to 852,000 which is ok for 9:30pm in summer. But does anybody want to take a guess at how long it will be before this blog has a post titled Burn Notice gets a Burn Notice?

The only thing I watch on Ten now is the news. I thought Cane was an excellent show and can’t understand why Ten took it off. I was one of those who taped it and watched it later as it was on too late for me. That’s it for me now, I won’t be watching anything on Ten again. Goodbye Channel Ten.
Ahh Channel 10, nice work, the only decent “new” show on and it just goes missing, no notice, no.. well.. stuff you guys Ive downloaded it and am watching it on my pc.
Cane was the best show on TV I cant beleive they have taken it off air. Its better than all the medical and cop shows please bring it back I am beging you.
Cane is the best show I have seen for a long while. I am sick and tied of SUV and Law and Order. Channel 10 could at least had the decency to show the remaining episodes.
Cane!!!! What happend to it? and why? not happy. It was a good show and there was no reason to replace it at all. Please bring it back!!!!
I know what others are saying about not watching a new show on Channel 10 for ages. About the only thing that grabbed my attention was the
V8 supercars, and to my relief channel 7 got that back pretty much meaning that I didn’t watch Channel 10 at all before Cane popped up on the screen. Maybe Channel 7 will pick Cane up as well. Channel 10 needs to realise that TV is more than just Reality TV crap, The Simpsons and re-runs of Friends.
Aaaarrggh what is 10 thinking! It’s infuriating cutting a show before the season end! I’m getting so sick of this kind of treatment by commercial stations. I’m at the point where I no longer bother with new series. I’ll just buy it on dvd.
Someone is going to come along and give the industry a real shake up just like Apple did with itunes. Where will your precious ratings be then?!
Where is my “CANE” ? Finally something different, I miss my Cane. Bring Cane back !!!!!!!!!!!

Now i have seen it all. Finally a show on 10 that is decent and is not a spin off of Law and Order, Law & Order Criminal Intent, Law & Order SVU or NCIS. I mean come on. Movies should be shown on fri/sat/sun nights.
I truley cannot believe it was taken off without even notice. maybe if it was a medical show, or a law show it would have lasted.
Channel 10 sort yourselves out. You lost me when your priorities over showing F1 races at crazy hours now you got me back only to strip all the people that liked Cane off… No wonder foxtel is a good alternative…

So who decides what we watch and what we don’t watch at Ten? If you are reading this – GROW UP! Cane was fantastic! What is the point of starting a series only to take it away once we are all sucked in. And with no notice! I will never trust you again Ten you have done this too many times.
Argh…. Who would be so stupid as to cancel such a great show, just when it was getting exciting?
Also, why would you cancel a show that was promoting new Australian talent?
And to top it off, you replace the show with nothing but rubbish repeats!
I get more satisfaction out of watching paint day then putting up with 10`s pathetic programmers.
Wake up and realise what you are doing before you lose more viewers, as most other people agree.
I am another person extremely dissapointed about Cane being cancelled. Hopefully if enough of us complain they’ll realise they should bring it back!

I am so angry that channel ten have done this. Cane was the show i watch every wednesday after work.. i loved it…
It was only a couple of weeks ago i saw in the paper a great review on “CANE” and how it was newest and most exciting drama for everyone to watch. I honestly don’t get it. Seriously… if channel ten keep dropping great shows like this and continue playing the same crap over and over again..they may as well say goodbye to a lot of viewers…

I think it is absolutely riduculous that channel Ten axes such a great show. after my poor journeyman was moved to HD i thought hey, why not get into this other show, but then Canes fate mirrored that of Tens other great TV shows. one can only hope that channel seven wont do the same with dirty sexy money.
Channel Ten should wake up because you will lose more viewers than you can afford to in the long run.

We sit at home and really are forced to watch these shows especially through summer and they just start to get interesting and something to look forward to only to find it is ripped away and no longer an option. I agree no wonder we download. The only positive is that Brothers and Sisters is comming back. Disgruntled
God save us from the idiot programmers at TEN!!!
Cane is a very good show and both it and Psych should have been given a full 10 episode run before they were ripped from our viewing choices … there is almost nothing left to watch that is not boring medical or cop shows from the US!
And remember … the RATINGS are not an accurate indication of what the majority of viewers prefer to watch … for many viewers, anything after 9.30pm has to be recorded and viewed later!

Why would they leave on a show that rates at around 500,000 and for it’s last episode got 300,000, even in summer those kind of numbers are unacceptable.
Cane was really starting to grow on me. It was good having a show in the grand old tradition of Dallas. But Channel 10 hardly ever advertised it, a big show of no faith. One thing I wish this show did, and many other shows with large casts, is to go back to having the Grand opening sequences that inroduce the main cast. This show was beging for a start like that, as is Brothers Sisters & Ugly Betty to name a few. It’s like it’s uncool to have opening credits now.
I haven’t started watching a new show on Ten since last winter. It’s saved me a lot of frustration, so based on this positive experience, my personal Ten line-up for 2008 is to read all those novels I haven’t got around to reading in the last couple of years…
And they wonder why people download.
