Heynatz scores karaoke co-host

As rumoured on this site, former contestant Erika Haynatz is now confirmed as the host of Seven’s upcoming It Takes Two.

“It’s a big change going from competitor to co-host,” Erika said. “I know first hand the tough terrain the competitors have to navigate and I want to be able to be there to make sure they get the most out of the experience.”

Heynatz, who also hosted TEN’s The Hothouse, replaces Kate Ritchie who has radio commitments with NOVA FM in Sydney.

She is the third co-host for Grant Denyer after its criticised first series hostess, Terasa Livingstone.

Heynatz will certainly tower over Denyer, but that’s never been a problem for the chemistry between Sonia Kruger and Daryl Somers on Dancing with the Stars.

Press Release:

Channel Seven confirmed Erika Heynatz will step into the co-host role of the third series of It Takes Two.

She will join host Grant Denyer as the top-rating series returns next month.

It’s a return to the It Takes Two stage for Erika – she was crowned first series champion, when she was paired with opera singer David Hobson. Now, she will be able to give first-hand support and guidance to the 10 celebrities who will take the stage this series.

“It’s a big change going from competitor to co-host,” Erika said. “I know first hand the tough terrain the competitors have to navigate and I want to be able to be there to make sure they get the most out of the experience.”

Host Grant Denyer said of his new co-host: “Erika brings a lot of spark to everything she does. And with her amazing experiences from series one, she is the perfect rock for our nervous new celebrities.”

Erika has evolved from model to actor, television presenter, narrator and radio announcer and now recording artist. Her natural talent and sheer determination saw her win the first series of It Takes Two. This achievement led to Erika signing with major record label EMI/Ministry of Sound. Since then, she has devoted her time writing and recording her debut album which is due for release in 2008.

It Takes Two is a BBC format, and is a co-production between BBC Worldwide and Seven.
