Mikey Robins returns to Good News Week

It’s a Good News Week. Mikey Robins is returning as a captain of TEN’s new comedy show.

But Julie McCrossin will be replaced by Claire Hooper, former comedian on the ABC’s The Sideshow.

TEN has also clarified some media confusion over its starting date. The show will now premiere at 9pm on Monday February 11 before moving to its permanent home of 8:30pm thereafter.

  2. Im glad Good News Week is back!

And I have heard that Jensen Ackles will be appearing on the first show. (YAY!)

I myself am sad to see Supernatural being pushed back an hour though.

  3. Paul Mc Dermott was interviewed by
    Angela Bishop on ten news.
I liked both Good News Week and
The Sideshow. I hope Ten gives it a fair go. TEN’s GREAT in ’08
(The Advertisement in The Australian)is a stretch.

  4. Why cant they get new people? refresh the format!! why draw from the same well that already dried up once!
Mikey has been doing guest appearances on a few shows and if you didnt know already, he is very thin now, lost like 80kgs, thats great and all but everytime he is on tv thats the basis for all his humour, “ex-fatguy” jokes.
And I predict!! That it will be like 85% of his joke base, how he used to be fat and now his not.
The format is half way decent but the people on the show are out dated.
I used to work the bar at several comedy clubs in Melbourne (over a 6 year time frame) and amongst all the comedians McDermott was a bit of a joke. To be a respected comedian in Melbourne (or australia for that matter) you have to have “street cred” , done the crap gigs and worked your way thru the bars. (Just like the New York scene) and Mc Dermott never did this, hence why he has been struggling for work for the last few years and 3/4 of the clubs dont book him. Sure DAAS was a part of the cred back then, but they used to treat their warm ups like dirt and were always way over demanding of club owners (write-ups, comps and dressing rooms).
God help this show, it wont see out the year.

  5. I’ll miss Criminal Intent but I like GNW. I wish The Glasshouse
would come back too. Perhaps Tripod, Flacco and The Sandman can be guests. I hate hour programs starting at 9pm and Supernatural shouldn’t be on at 10pm (too late). I thought they would have put GNW on later in the week.

  6. Sorry Ten or whoever, but I wouldn’t touch this show with a bargepole… So many people working in television yet so many without imagination? How BORING! ZZZeriously.

  7. It’s going to be great! I’m glad Mikey is coming on board and find him funny (at any size!).
So disappointed that Julie isn’t coming back but I predicted that the powers that be would be after someone younger. She will be missed.
