Nine moves 7pm comedies

Nine is moving Two and a Half Men into the 7pm comedy slot later this month.

It will take over from King of Queens from Monday January 28.

But the episodes remain repeats, from Series 2 Ep 18 “It Was Mame, Mum.” In the US the sitcom is in its fifth season.

Nine will still continue with the repeat eps at 8:30pm Thursdays.

Ratings season returns Feb 10.

  1. As far as i am aware if a network has a show before they lose the rights as long as the show is still running they are allowed to still show it (for example Prison Break as ten & foxtel now have the 20th Century Fox Rights) …..correct me if i am wrong!! The have the rights for “First-run” episodes

  2. Article indicates ratings are back Feb 10, we’ll know before then. But I did note Temp isn’t shooting til March so the question is how many in stockpile?

  3. David, can you confirm something for me. I believe Nine is not showing King of Queens anymore as they no longer have the rights. I remember reading that since it is a CBS International show, TEN now has that arrangement after Nine didn’t renew their 40 year relationship with CBS.

  4. Ha! This does not surprise me from a network who ‘heart’ tv – they know how to put a knife in one. They simply have no heart at all – The King Of Queens is a fantastic show that should be regularily shown, not just in non-ratings period – i dont dislike 2 and a half men but KoQ is so much funnier.

I will be watching The Biggest Loser when that commences on 27-28th January – im going to miss my Friends though!

  5. King of Queens is one of my fav shows, and that two and a half crap has been on and off switched around so many times its not funny, Get your act together nine!! Your pissing off your viewers and your inconsistency is just adding fuel to the fire!!

  6. Not that I’m a fan of this show, but why arn’t they putting new eps on Thursday? Surely nine must have quite a few eps up their sleeve, considering it’s not shown on a regualr basis during the year.

  7. If that’s the Ch 9 plan for the 7pm timeslot during the ratings period, then I predict record ratings for ‘Home & Away’ and ‘The Biggest Loser’.
