Ray wants a radio gig

Ray Martin tested for a slot with radio station 2UE last year as a possible replacement for John Laws.

“Ray (Martin) rehearsed for it at UE’s Greenwich Studios late last year, but it was thought it was too much of a risk for a TV guy who struggled with filling the gaps on air,” a station source told Confidential.

Channel Nine is believed to have been reluctant to see Martin crossover into radio.

“It’s not over between him and UE as they are trying to find some way to make it work,” said the source.

The morning shift eventually went to Steve Price.
