Vale: Brad Renfro

Actor Brad Renfro has died, aged 25.

“I can confirm that Brad Barron Renfro is deceased,” Coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter told Reuters. “He was found unresponsive in a residence. Paramedics responded and he was pronounced dead at 9 a.m.”

His death follows battles with drug addiction in 2006 when he was ordered into a drug treatment program and placed on three years probation.

More film than television star, Renfro’s career began as a child actor in the films The Client, and later starred in Sleepers and Apt Pupil. In television he made an appearance in Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
