30 Rock and Wire top WGA awards

Never let a strike get in the way of a good party?

The Writer’s Guild of America held its annual awards in New York, shelling out accolades to 30 Rock and The Wire as Best Comedy and Dramatic Series.

Mad Men won Best New Series.

Other prizes went to The Sopranos, The Simpsons and The Colbert Report.

30 Rock defeated NZ comedy Flight of the Conchords. New episodes of the Tina Fey comedy air on Seven, Monday night at 11:30pm.
