Another Suspect primed for Mirren?

This is good news! Lynda La Plante has hinted at the possibility of a new series of Prime Suspect.

The author told The Mirror, “From the ending of the ‘final’ episode, the way Tennison looked over her shoulder at the police station… I thought, ‘she’s going to come back.'”

Helen Mirren has also admitted that she does not want to close the door on the BAFTA Award-winning show, saying, “There’s something, I can’t explain what, that stops me ruling it out.”

It might parallel the many farewells of John Farnham, but it’s a fantastic franchise. Bring. It. On.

ITV has said it will not make a TV version of her final book.
