Eisner’s early call: "strike is over"

Former Disney CEO Michael Eisner appeared on CNBC’s Fast Money telling host Dylan Ratigan that the Writers Guild of America strike “is over.”

“It’s over. They made the deal, they shook hands on the deal. It’s going, on Saturday, to the writers. A deal has been made. They’ll be back to work very soon,” Eisner predicted. “I know it’s over.”

“One thing that is great is, talent will win out. Talented writers will get new deals,” Eisner said. “But for the short term it was a mistake.”

However, the union members are yet to ratify a labor proposal on Saturday (Sunday Australian time).

The WGA is still expressing caution, awaiting due process. The striking writers’ blog United Hollywood is still readying for a meeting, noting “we are all still waiting on specific contract language.”
