Jane Fonda says ‘The C Word’ on NBC

Jane Fonda dropped “the C word” on the US Today Show while she was discussing her appearance in the stage play, The Vagina Monologues.

In this clip nobody batted an eyelid, but the show later apologised to viewers. “It was a slip and obviously she apologizes and so do we,” co-host Meredith Vieira said. “We would do nothing to offend the audience, so please accept that apology.”

When it aired on the West Coast Fonda’s face was covered with a still photo and the word silenced.

Warning: Clip may offend!

  1. Who cares? Sex and the City brought c*nt out of the closet years ago.

Only Americans could get worked up over a swear word while gore on shows like CSI is family viewing.

  2. I agree with hacked2death. The language isn’t as offensive within the context of the programme, but just as long it’s given a proper rating+warning beforehand, I don’t see why anybody would be completely “shocked” by this.

  3. Gah! I find the word no more offensive than any other swear word myself, but when it is used in that context, it’s understandable, okay, she could of found a better word to use, but anyone watching that show for that especially shouldnt be too shocked.
