Light years from ‘Ramsay Street’

‘Beauciel’ is 2 hours from Melbourne and “light years” from the stresses of city life says real estate firm Hocking Stuart.

It’s also the island getaway for one-time Neighbours star Kylie Minogue and family -and it’s been put on the property market.

The retreat is on 50 acres of land on the Westernport Bay island, with another 171 adjacent acres, with native wildlife and rare bird species.

The Minogues bought the property for $400,000 three years ago but after extensive renovations, it is expected to fetch $1.8m – $2m. The property boasts four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a big country kitchen, a restored chicory kiln and sweeping bay views.

These pictures certainly indicate it’s been tastefully refurbished.

The Minogues made several environmentally friendly innovations, including installing solar and wind power.

General store owner, postmaster and cafe owner Maurice Ralph told the Herald Sun Kylie was well liked by the locals.

“She’d come in here and get one of our King Island beef pies with our homemade tomato sauce,” he boasted.

“They’re more weekenders than locals, but they’ve helped out in the community while they’ve been here.

“They’ve donated money to the fire brigade and given a few people work on the property.”

Yet again the Minogues demonstrate they are a class act, and perfect Neighbours.
