More Neighbours moving out

News today that three more cast are to leave TEN’s Neighbours. Jesse Rosenfeld (Marco Silvani), Sweeney Young (Riley Parker) and Daniel O’Connor (Ned Parker) are expected to film their final scenes in around three months’ time.

Meanwhile its been a week since Neighbours switched from the BBC to Five in the UK, but the move hasn’t been entirely embraced. Sporting a new “filmic” look, some Brits aren’t pleased with what they view as a loss of colour.

Said one fan: “Part of Neighbours‘ appeal is the sunny, bright colours, the life like feel and the intimacy of the show provided by the SD interlaced video.”

Stash22 concurred: “I agree with you, my mother and I were discussing it today. We weren’t sure if it was something to do with Channel 5 or Neighbours. Really disappointing to change it, seems like all the soaps do this now.”

A Five spokesman said it received Neighbours from FremantleMedia with the effect and did not plan to change it. In fact the network has been making a lot of noise about acquiring the soap. Check out this promo, complete with CGI kangaroo!

Five also recently hosted a brass band peformance of the Neighbours theme tune in Trafalgar Square, featuring none other than Ian Smith, aka Harold Bishop, with tuba in tow!

  1. as much as I like the show and want to see it continue, the recent cast turnover, and the “actors” they are bringing in, do not fill me with confidence.

still the show is saved by the five deal, it might end up in daytime, but it wont go off air. even if it did, five would move hell & earth to allow production to continue for them, and anyone else interested.

  2. Dan’s still on the show for at LEAST another 3 months? Jesus. That’s pretty much another season of Ned/Zeke that I won’t be putting up with. Remind me when they get booted off the show because the series is an absolute joke in its current state.
