Nine advertising on Foxtel

Last year when Foxtel wanted to tell viewers it had AFL games back in the schedule it cheekily advertised “more games” than its competitors Seven and TEN, on the Nine Network.

Now Nine is advertising its product on subscription television.

Nine is running ads on Foxtel for some of its new 2008 programmes. This must be a first? Free To Air spending up on Pay TV!

Of course there is some common ground with Consolidated Media owning 25% of Foxtel and 25% of PBL Media (which in turns owns the Nine Network).

When Seven advertises on Foxtel start looking upwards for flying pigs.

  1. its slightly off topic I realise and I dont think it will happen with them launching Tivo this year, but now that Seven is the only channel not to have listings on Foxtel it stands out like dogs you know what..there are times when I miss things on 7 or just dont record them because the ‘custom record’ feature on IQ to record on a channel with no listings is much more involved than just pressing the “R” button for all other channels..given the penetration of PAY TV is growing all the time, I really think they are doing themselves a dis-service by not jumping on board with it.
