Rowena Wallace heads north

Noted soapie actress Rowena Wallace, best known as ‘Pat the Rat’ from Sons and Daughters, will head up the drama department at Sunshine Coast Arts Dance Academy in Nambour, Queensland.

Wallace has been based in Melbourne but returns to Queensland where she began her acting career at the Twelfth Night Theatre in Bowen Hills.

SCADA spokesman Brian Hewitt said, “Rowena has had years of experience and she’s well known as the matriarch of Australian drama.

“She’ll teach our students how to enjoy the journey and offer 50 years of expertise.”

Wallace has appeared on The Flying Doctors, Water Rats, A Country Practice, Cop Shop, Prisoner, Neighbours, Water Rats and Celebrity Overhaul.

In 2005 the gold Logie winner received a six month suspended sentence for social security fraud. The money was repaid.

  1. i wonder if ,all those people who offered accomodation to rowena wallace would offer the same if she wasn,t a tv star. we have lots of homeless people and someone would love that one bedroom cottage that was offered to her, but i suppose that is out of the question.
now she is going to qld i suppose someone up there will be doing the same thing for her. it,s a pity she didn,t think about being poor a lot sooner and sold a couple of logies, could have kept her for awhile at least.
well now she will be very happy, until the next time she falls on hard times.
