TEN corporate resignation

Network TEN’s head of corporate communications, Margaret Fearn, today announced her resignation.

Fearn has been with TEN for seven years.

“Over her tenure she has significantly grown her role, and the corporate communications team, positioning TEN and its core values whilst forging a seat for corporate affairs at the senior management table,” said CEO Grant Blackley.

“The issues have been mostly fun, always challenging, and television fascinates me every bit as much today as it did when I first walked in the door,” Fearn said.

TEN is looking for a replacement.

Network Ten today announced Margaret Fearn had decided to leave her role as head of corporate communications, effective in April.

TEN’s chief executive officer, Grant Blackley, thanked Ms Fearn for her long service to TEN, saying: “Margaret joined us nearly seven years ago as TEN’s first-ever corporate communications manager.

“Over her tenure she has significantly grown her role, and the corporate communications team, positioning TEN and its core values whilst forging a seat for corporate affairs at the senior management table.

“She has also worked to align our not-for-profit support program with TEN’s brand image and business philosophy.

“We will miss Margaret but fully understand her wish, after a lengthy and successful career with us, to turn her hand to something new.”

Ms Fearn said: “Seven years have gone very quickly for me in this professionally and personally rewarding role.

“The issues have been mostly fun, always challenging, and television fascinates me every bit as much today as it did when I first walked in the door.

“I leave TEN feeling proud of the corporate communications team’s contribution and to have had the privilege of being part of TEN.”

Margaret Fearn joined TEN to head the newly-created corporate communications function in April, 2001.

Before that, she spent five years with News Limited as deputy director of corporate affairs.

Mr Blackley said recruitment of Ms Fearn’s successor had commenced and that appointment would be announced in due course.
