Chilling crime under CIA microscope

Another instalment in the excellent Crime Investigation Australia series premieres on Thursday March 27.

Opening up the files on the NSW case of Virginia Morse, the episode includes an exclusive interview with former NSW Premier Bob Carr.

In 1973 two ex-convicts raided a farm outside Collarenebri, NSW, and bound, blindfolded and gagged Morse before abducting her to Queensland. As she begged for her life, Virginia Morse was pinned down on a riverbank, raped, tortured and finally, brutally murdered.

Many details of the crime were so horrific they were withheld by the court but eventually led to a change in legislation that ensured the killers would never be released.
