Sandilands on Holden

Aussie Idol judge and radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands says he was shocked to hear of Mark Holden’s departure from the judging panel.

“The first I heard of it was the night before the announcement,” Sandilands said, adding that despite appearances to the contrary, the two got along very well off camera.

“He was just a showman always trying to ham it up like Bert Newton.”

And while he had urged that someone should be cut from the judging panel, he didn’t think it would be Holden.

“I thought he would be the last person to go.”

On fellow judge Marcia Hines, Sandilands said, “I hated Marcia’s guts for a whole year but we are good friends now. She has no plans to leave. ‘Life is too good. I love this shit’, she said.”

Meanwhile Sandilands is preparing for Big Brother – not that he is “all flapped up” about it yet. “We have had two meetings so far, I’ll handle it when it happens.”

“I want them to give me my own show like Rove McManus,” he said. Hopefully that was with a sense of irony?

  1. I wouldn’t be one to watch a Kyle centred show. It’d be pretty much exactly like what he says on the Kyle and Jackie O show, only difference is it’d be all him and we’ve have to watch him visually. I don’t think so
