What’s a little spin between sources?

Wait a minute, who was first with the news about Tim Campbell’s signing with Nine for Wheel of Fortune?

“With Channel 9 now shouting about its signing of former Seven star Campbell – as first revealed by Confidential – the popular entertainer was yesterday drawn into the sledgefest between his old bosses and new employers,” Sydney Confidential reads today.

But their original story is dated Friday March 21. TV Tonight had it online on Thursday March 20, including consulting with both Nine and Campbell’s management. And for that matter radio was first out of the box.

Peter Ford first had the story out in radio spots at 11am Thursday.

TV Tonight readily admits Confidential offers quite a supply of stories re-published here (often with extra comment or perspective), but they are always credited.

  1. meh, exactly what we expect from news limited!

dont worry bout ’em dave. Your site is brilliant and breaks news before the others more often than not, and your continually rising viewership reflects this.

nobody reads confidential anyways! and remember when the confidentialtv show premiered? it rated ZERO in at least one market (Perth IIRC).. lol

  2. agva1At the end of the day we all know you have the #1 Television Blog in Australia and this wont change, so everyone will come here for all their television news.
Of course What’s On The Tube is #2 haha (joking!)
But as most of us know the news limited papers think they are the centre of the world and that they know everything, when in fact they are probably getting a lot of their news from you.

  3. It has been YEARS since I even looked at anything Confidential had to say. It’s a shame that they think they get the stories first, they often trail behind everyone else. I heard they’ll have an article on Tim Campbell coming out next week. Ooooh scoop!

  4. Im sure you had it first David. Papers always like to claim exclusive’s. Peronsally, I would come here first before reading gossip sections of a newspaper.

  5. Darling,

Your talking about the Daily Telegraph/Herald Sun – they are hardly the bastions of truth and honesty when it comes to news stories.

No doubt the Kylie Walker story will be picked up in a day or so!

We’ll see if TV Tonight is credited withing picking up the story first or not.
