WIN TV boss quits

“Big” George Papadopoulos, has resigned his position as CEO of WIN Television.

Papadopoulos, who has been CEO for five years, has been with the company for five years.

Mr. Papadopoulos said: “My role as CEO of WIN Corporation has been the most rewarding experience of my professional life. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with Bruce and Andrew Gordon and the wonderful team of professionals at WIN.”

WIN Corporation Managing Director, David Butorac said: “George has made an amazing contribution to this business and has been very successful in driving one of Australia’s greatest media companies to where it is today. I wish him all the best in his future ventures.”

Last month WIN appointed David Butorac as its new Managing Director.

The Executive Chairman of WIN Corporation, Mr. Andrew Gordon, has today announced the resignation of Chief Executive Officer, Mr. George Papadopoulos.

Mr. Papadopoulos has worked closely with Deputy Chairman, Bruce Gordon and Executive Chairman, Andrew Gordon in the overall management of WIN Corporation for over nine years, the last five as Deputy and Chief Executive.

Mr. Papadopoulos joined the company in 1998 and spent several years working within the business developing a thorough knowledge of the Network’s operations management before being appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2003 and then in July 1 2004 became CEO of WIN Corporation.

Announcing his resignation, Mr. Papadopoulos said: “My role as CEO of WIN Corporation has been the most rewarding experience of my professional life. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with Bruce and Andrew Gordon and the wonderful team of professionals at WIN.”

Commenting on Mr. Papadopoulos’ departure, WIN Corporation Managing Director, David Butorac said: “George has made an amazing contribution to this business and has been very successful in driving one of Australia’s greatest media companies to where it is today.
