Kyle Sandilands: Producer?

Sandilands has penned a graphic family drugs drama, with the working title On The Go, to be produced with indie director Alfredo De Villa (Humboldt Park, Washington Heights) and US financing after Network TEN turned him down.

Sandilands originally pitched it to TEN as a 12-part TV series 18 months ago, but programmers tried to turn the volume down on the violence.

“They wanted to tone it down and I told them it wasn’t going to be set at Lassiters with no swearing. So they said no,” Sandilands said.

The shock jock is already exerting his influence on Big Brother telling producers he will quit if they don’t push the envelope by testing contestants’ race relations and cultural beliefs.

“Not everyone in there is a psychopath, but there will be cultural and religious differences,” he said from the Gold Coast.

“There are quite a few intelligent ones (contestants) who’ll get their point across.”
