Returning: Surf Patrol

Riding on on a wave of observational docos, Seven will return Surf Patrol to screens next month.

It returns at 8:00pm on Monday May 12, following new episodes of Border Security. Seven has certainly been enjoying bumper figures for repeats lately -this week it attracted 1.7m viewers.

Surf Patrol conveniently returns as TEN’s highly successful Bondi Rescue exits. It concludes the night after, no doubt a strategic move by Seven to capitalise on interest in the genre.

And waiting in the wings is Nine’s Search and Rescue, following the search and rescue operations of the Victoria Police Air-Wing, underwater crime scene investigations of police divers and the management of the rescues at the Victoria Police Co-ordination Centre. Any bets it will move into Nine’s 6:30-7:30 Sunday hour in May?

Press Release:

Surf Patrol returns with all new episodes that follow the daring and dangerous work of real Aussie heroes as they patrol our beaches. Tonight, a mother’s worst nightmare comes true when her two young children are swept off a sandbank. Time is running out for a jet skier who’s disappeared in the ocean. And a snapper taking saucy shots on the beach lands in hot water.
