Ausiello quits TV Guide

The man who knows all, TV Guide columnist Michael Ausiello (pictured, right) is leaving to join Entertainment Weekly.

TV Guide (the magazine) was recently taken over and set to be re-sold in a split wih TVGuide.com.

Ausiello, known for his sources and scoops will start at EW on July 2.

Rick Tetzeli, Managing Editor, Entertainment Weekly said, “Michael is a first rate journalist. His extraordinary combination of hard work, obsessive intensity and friendly persuasion are a perfect fit for Entertainment Weekly.”

Ausiello said, “After eight fraktastic years with TV Guide — the best of my career — I’ve made the toughest decision of my life.

“Before I go, though, I wanted to express my unsmurfing gratitude to you guys, for the hundred million things you’ve been moved to ask Ausiello. It’s because of you and our shared obsession with the tube that I am lucky enough to do for a living.”

Ausiello’s track record of breaking hundreds of television and entertainment stories is outstanding.

He is a must-read for reporters and columnists who cover the television industry (especially for those of us who aren’t actually in the US!).
