Ellen to visit Geelong

Portia de Rossi will bring her Ellen DeGeneres to Geelong to meet her family before they wed.
De Rossi, who grew up in the Geelong suburb of Grovedale as Amanda Rogers, has been partnered to deGeneres for three years. DeGeneres announced the couple’s plan to wed on her chat show about two weeks ago following changes to Californian law.
Ellen chats regularly with Portia’s grandmother and is looking forward to a face to face meeting.
It was TV Week writer Peter Timbs who announced the news on FOX FM.
“She (Ellen) actually wants to meet the grandmother,” Timbs said.
“Portia is quite close with the grandmother in Geelong and Ellen talks to her on the phone all the time but hasn’t met her face to face.
“But she is coming over at Christmas time to meet granny at last.”
