Rose d’Or: And the winners are…

Both The Chaser (comedy) and The Librarians (sitcom) were competing in the Comedy category, the sole Aussie nominees in competition. They lost to UK entries Kombat Opera Presents (BBC) and The IT Crowd (Channel 4) -the latter currently airing on the ABC.

Skins (E4) was awarded the Drama prize, and Sony Television’s Power of Ten took home the prize for best Game Show -just don’t tell Steve Jacobs.

  1. Aussie ratings are sourced via OzTAM (Neilsen is US), with each box representing a certain proportion of viewers. It’s not perfect but it’s in line with international practice, and all networks are on the same playing field.

Please use TV Lounge for off topic questions, thanks.

  2. well,

hwo do Neilsen survey and other survey pin-point exact number of veiwers switching on to particular programs…
somewhere i read once that “Show-A had 1.5 million vierwers untill 8.30 and then 700K of them switched to show-B” ..

how can they be so specific? how do they know the count of viewers???

sorry, this is not related to the topic

  3. I hope the ABC picks up Kombat Opera Presents. As a fan of Jerry Springer: The Opera, I would love to see it.

I am a little concerned that it’s very UK-centric; of the 5 episodes, only half of them reference shows we get in Australia: The Apprentice, Wife Swap and Question Time (which nobody watches anyway, so it only counts for half).
