That’s a lot of hairspray, Chris….

The breaking news of the Corby defamation must have really thrown Seven into a spin on Thursday night.

While setting up a live cross, Seven News in Sydney inadvertently took viewers behind the scenes of its news studio. Instead of cutting to an ad break, it sent out a live studio feed. Thankfully, nobody misbehaved or said anything untoward.

Newsreader Chris Bath could be seen checking audio links to a live reporter, while having her hair touched up at the same time. Apologies to the ozone layer. Sports presenter Matthew White was also caught out, but only adjusting his earpiece (and possibly rehearsing a grin?).

Did you see this live to air?

  1. I love it.

I wish they WOULD cut out one ad break and show us LIVE behind the scenes (like Rove live in 60seconds or whatever), Chris Bath and Matthew White could both be drinking a brand name drink, she could be using a specific brand hair product.. It’s more interesting than having to sit with the same 8 ads on rotation in 30 minutes.

  2. That was awesome!! I watched it twice!! So random, I’ve never seen what goes on behind-the-scenes at a news studio before and that was a short example. That was great. I hope there are more “slip-ups” like that in future as they are actually 100x more entertaining than anything on the news itself.

  3. Its Presentation’s fault. a job that carries a lot of responsibility but is paid squat so is done by young people starting in the industry. no one wants to do the job and move out of there as soon as they can.

  4. Reminds me of years ago on Brisbane TV the switched to a feed of Darren McDonald putting his make-up on, then quickly switched back to an Ad.

At the end of his news update he said something along the lines of” And I’ll be back at 8:30 with the next news update and my make up on”

    Very Entertaining…

  5. Mr Leckie should kick someones ass for that…a few seconds is an error, 10 seconds at a push but 45 seconds…geez..thats just sloppy!
