Update: Rescheduled to Wed July 30 8:30pm.

Thorpedo will host a two hour special on swimming for the History Channel.

Ian Thorpe, who has a long affiliation with Foxtel, will present The Spirit of Australian Sport – Swimming on Wed July 30 8:30pm. At one point he was set to front his own youth lifestyle series for the Pay TV network but was forced to lay low due to illness.

“Just as we are about to cheer on our new stars of the pool in Beijing, it is inspiring for me to reflect on the huge success Australian swimmers have had over the years,” said Thorpe. “The stories and struggles they have to tell are truly moving and inspirational.”

Sounds like a job for Undercover Angels, Thorpie!

  1. David, I thought I was the only person who remembered (or, indeed, ever watched) Undercover Angels. I think it proved quite comprehensively that Thorpey should not be allowed to host a TV show. He was comically, hilariously wooden.
