TEN News Melbourne today unveiled its new look set.
No longer dominated by a rich blue, it now has softer tones with a distinct backdrop of city architecture. It also adds more contours than previous flat images.
Both Mal Walden and Helen Kapalos are shouldered by light brown cushioning.
Steve Quartermain’s sports set is very busy indeed, with at least four elements behind him.

lol,
crazy acoustic panels arn’t they. My word!
I guess they provide a contrast in the background for the unattractive presenters (not sandra sully though)
I do prefer this colour palette, but I mostly watch waiting for the inmates of the mental asylum out the back to come running out during filming.
So I assume Network Ten’s Adelaide news service will also use this backdrop for cost cutting reasons.
Those Acoustic panels look like they were dragged out of an Asylum.
IMO a set (or at least backdrop) like this should have been used in Perth. Much prefer this style of backdrop.
The new “contours” at the sides make it look like they’re doing the news from the Batcave 😀
