Lleyton Hewitt, ratings hero.

With Lleyton Hewitt proceeding to a showdown with Roger Federer at Wimbledon on Monday, Nine has advised it will screen the match from 10:30pm.

As a result Footy Classified will not air at this time in AFL states.

Starting times for Wimbledon matches have varied from day to day and state to state, with some viewers frustrated by 11:30pm starting times.

Nine will be crossing its fingers that Hewitt makes good progress. The 2005 Australian Open between Hewitt and Marat Safin is still the highest-rated television broadcast since 2001 when an average of 4.04m viewers were glued to their sets.

This year’s Aussie Open at 2.35m is also the biggest audience of 2008.

No word if Footy Classified will reappear elsewhere.

  1. Still the match starts at 10pm – so unless it rains we’ll still either miss the first few games or they’ll run it delayed like in the past.

  2. im surprised hutchy didn’t run with that exclusive on the footy show. “i can exclusively report there will be no Footy Classified on Monday.”
