Returning: Hi-5

Stevie Nicholson (pictured, left) will make his series debut as a permanent Hi-5 teammate when the tenth series airs on Nine at 3:30pm Monday July 7.

Nicholson graduated from understudy last December, replacing Tim Harding who had a motorbike accident that saw him confined to a wheelchair for six weeks with a fractured spine and two broken feet.

Harding has since recovered but with the physical demands of performing, has retired from the act after nine seasons.

The tenth series also kicks off with Charli Delaney still a regular, meaning she will appear on both the Nine and Seven Networks -where she judges on Battle of the Choirs.

Delaney has since been replaced by Casey Burgess, daughter of 70’s popstar Ray Burgess, who has been making appearances around Australia as part of the live stage tour. Hi-5, which now airs in more than 80 countries around the world, was recently acquired by Nine and Southern Star from Kids Like Us productions. It was sold by Posie Parker-Evans and co-creator Helena Harris.

Press Release:
Hi-5 will have kids singing and dancing in their lounge rooms when it returns to Channel Nine with its tenth series on Monday, July 7 at 3.30pm.

The new series will introduce a brand new Hi-5 face, Stevie Nicholson. Stevie will join Hi-5 favourites Nathan Foley, Kellie Crawford (formerly Kellie Hoggart), Sun Park and Charli Delaney.

Hi-5 encourages children to develop their own potential and take a joyous and active part in life. Each week Hi-5 explores a contemporary theme, examining issues relevant to children aged from two to six and the world around them. Series 10 specifically explores such concepts as different family structures; planet earth at a local and world level; the future – growing up and what’s new; and technology, while also covering topics like sharing, sport, confidence, story telling and play time.

Martin Hersov and Catherine Payne, Directors of Hi-5 Operations, said: “We are very excited about the launch of Series 10. Children have grown up with Hi-5 and this series will once again have them up and dancing and learning along the way.”

Hi-5 is a vibrant mix of stories, investigation, imagination and adventure, inviting children to actively share in the excitement of exploring the world through movement, lots of catchy music and laughter.

The Hi-5 cast are vibrant, highly talented young singers and dancers whose warmth and energy enables them to engage their audience as they showcase the material and themes relevant to young children and families of today. Learning becomes a delight as children are genuinely encouraged to participate in the interactive segments. In this positive and friendly environment learning is playful, fun and always inclusive.

From Tuesday, July 1, the Hi-5 Party Street Tour will hit the road, entertaining audiences throughout regional Victoria, Southern NSW and Tasmania; and at Hornsby, Campbelltown, Revesby and Mingara. Visit www.hi-5.com.au for further details.
