The sincerest form of flattery?

Is it just me or does this sound familiar?

A repeat documentary buried deep in the ABC schedule, might have made for great inspiration…..originally produced in 2004…..

ABC1. Monday June 23. 3:55am. Our Boys: Filipe (CC, PG, Rpt)

Follows the lives of students and teachers at Canterbury Boys High. This week we meet Filipe Mahe, a cheeky, disruptive 15-year-old from Tonga who has slipped through the net – he’s made it into Year 9 without being able to read or write.

As you’ve probably worked out, the photo added here is not from the above doco.

  1. Logie wins are defiantly not everything, they count for very little. A very suspicious event indeed.
And Dave! using the words Lilley and Fabulous in the same sentence!! Are you trying to tell us something??
    🙂 🙂 🙂

  2. I think Lilley is rather fabulous, and there’s nothing wrong with recognising something inspired an artist to work. It’s what you do with it that counts. Execution is everything. I’ve posted this purely out of curiosity, and in case anybody wants to see it. Logie wins aren’t everything but he did win from both critics and viewers. Good for him.

  3. And where do you think Chris Lilley got his idea to poke fun at a messed up high school kid?
I understand that among the “industry” and its insiders Chris is gold right now and its popular to jump on the bandwagon, but the guy buy no means is original. (or popular outside of our country)
