When Denton met Ramsay

Andrew Denton was called “a little f*****” by Gordon Ramsay during an interview filmed for Enough Rope.

“He talked about how his mother never stood up to his father, was weak and that’s why (Ramsay) works so hard to be a good provider,” a TV source said.

Discussing his family history, touching on his failed musician father and drug addict brother, prompted an emotional response from Gordo. No doubt our Andrew’s impeccable research and ability to get under the skin of his subjects caught the chef off guard.

The interview nearly didn’t go ahead when the Scotsman was struck by a bad throat, reportedly the result of his hectic schedule.

“He was a bit rusty but managed to get through it. With his busy schedule, it’s a wonder he could talk at all,” a spokesperson told news.com.au.

The episode is not expected to air until July 28

Meanwhile Ramsay is said to be keen on a stand-alone restaurant for Melbourne. He isn’t interested in being part of a casino or a hotel.

  1. It’s also a technique to get more out of the interviewee if they think you actually give a damn about the interview. You’ll remember that Seinfeld was pissed off in the lead up to the interview, so Denton would have had to pull out all the tricks…

  2. A lot of times Denton asks certain questions just to show-off his research abilities, this was ever so apparent in the Seinfeld interview, asking very odd one-off questions that really didn’t require any response from his guest and were more to try impress the guest, of course he seems to only do this with US guests and never with Aussie ones, *sigh* it’s sad how our TV-hosts celebrities get so obviously star struck and need some attention of the kids on the other side of the playground.
