Aniston: I’ll be there for you in a movie

We have Sarah Jessica Parker to thank / blame for this one. There are reports that a Friends movie is on the wish list of the former cast members, now that Sex and the City’s feature has been deemed a success.

Jennifer Aniston, who had been holding out on the idea, has now reportedly warmed to the notion. Courteney Cox of course has also seen her TV series Dirt go under.

‘But the truth is that Jennifer is finally willing to do it, and she’d love to work with that whole team of actors and producers again,” says a nameless source. ‘She says she and Courteney have already talked this summer about what they want out of a Friends movie, and if deals can be made with them, everything else can fall into place rather quickly.

‘It really comes down to money, and I don’t think Jen has a problem with all of the Friends getting huge paydays for the movie.

But only a week ago Lisa Kudrow talked down any feature film prospects, saying, “I think it would be so fun to be with all those people again, but our show was not like Sex and the City, which was a single camera, filmic show anyway. Ours was multi-camera, in front of a live audience. It’s a completely different feel. You’d have to bring the tone down, and I don’t know how it would be. I’ll just stay open.”

Lisa Kudrow continues to work in film – but mostly lower profile independent ones. Matthew Perry is set to co-write, executive produce, and star in a new Showtime series called The End of Steve. David Schwimmer recently directed hit comedy Run Fatboy Run.

And then there’s Joey….

  1. I really hope that they do make a movie it would be cool to see. I’ve been hoping that they’d do a reunion show or something and I believe that I’m not the only fan out there that would want to see this.

In my opinion this show is a comedy cult I’ve been watching the repeats on ten and it still cracks me up the jokes are timeless. Even though some of the ep’s have been cut due to the time slot because of its sexual context or something like that.
