Bloomin’ marvellous

“I can’t believe this lot here that have just appeared,” said Peter Cundall in his final Gardening Australia.

“These are the people that helped to make the programme and worked the garden over all these years.

“And I’ll tell you something. There’s no way on Earth I’ll ever retire. There’s too many battles to fight and I mean peaceful ones as well. So I’m never gonna give in, and I’ll never stop. And there’s something else I must tell you. And it breaks me heart to tell you.

“For once it’s not ‘you bloomin’ lot’, it’s my bloomin’ lot. Right? And next week it’s gonna be a programme that’s better than ever.”

39 years on ABC Television.

Best wishes, Mr. Cundall!

  1. My better half is a fan of the show so we watched and whilst it IS a sad day to see him go, that really was a crappy, appallingly editted send-off. Was it directed by Richard Kelly’s protige or something? He deserved much better than that.
