Ramsay stacks up the chips

Gordon Ramsay has formed his own production company, One Potato Two Potato, which will co-produce Hell’s Kitchen with the UK’s Optomen Television.

The deal will exploit his programs and formats internationally and control publishing and other ancillary rights arising from the shows.

“Optomen takes my passionate and perfectionist approach to cooking and restaurants and applies it to television, so we’re a great fit,” said Ramsay.

One Potato Two Potato has already secured its first major U.K. commission from Channel 4, a seven-part series Cookalong Live, based on the one-off Cookalong event that aired in January. It will launch on the channel later this year while a U.S. version is reportedly in the works.

Meanwhile Nine hopes to produce an Australian Ramsay series in 2009. The outspoken guest is appears in the return of Enough Rope with Andrew Denton on Monday.
