“…And that is Nightline for this Friday, for this week, and in fact for good,” said Wendy Kingston.
“The programme is winding up after more than fifteen years. And in that time Nightline has had some illustrious journalists here in the chair: Jim Waley, Hugh Rimington, Ellen Fanning and of course Michael Usher.
“Eddie McGuire was our sports reader for a while there while respected reporter Laurie Wilson covered Canberra for us for many years. And a regular political commentator for us was the late Paul Lyneham.
“But now, well that’s it for Nightline.
“Goodnight.”

I’m guessing they will run with a format similar to Seven… bulletins through the night, with a final late bulletin around 10:30?
I don’t get it. Why was Nightline axed after so many years?
Dumb question but will ch9 have any late night news now?
