Who’s ya friend when things get tough?

Children’s TV legends Sid and Marty Krofft have joined with MySpace to show clips from some of their psychedelic television shows including H.R. Pufnstuf, Land of the Lost, The Bugaloos and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters and Lidsville.

The partnership will operate on a revenue-sharing basis; content is exclusive. The channel will launch with two “Krofft Kwikies” from all five shows. Each will last between three and five minutes. Eventually the channel will feature interviews with the directors, never-before-seen footage and outtakes.

MySpace has already had success with condensed versions of Sony TV skeins such as Fantasy Island and The Partridge Family. Brooks said the most successful minisodes have drawn “tens of thousands” of viewers. Total minisode viewership is 5 million.

But what about The Brady Bunch Variety Hour? That was also another of their productions. How could we forget that synchronised swimming pool -set to rival The Osmonds’ ice skating numbers?

For Pufnstuf fans the feature film (with Jack Wild, Billie Hayes, Martha Raye and Mama Cass) will screen on the ABC again next week. Set your PVR for 1:10am Monday morning on ABC1. Bizarrely it’s followed by a Boris Karloff horror film!
