Launching with a Rush

It was a rare occasion for TEN to roll out the red carpet and book the searchlights as the stars gathered to launch Rush.

The cast of Rush gathered last night for the launch of the new drama in St Kilda. It was a rare occasion for TEN to roll out the red carpet and book the searchlight hire company, normally a strategy afforded for its biggest shows like Australian Idol and Big Brother.

But TEN is beaming over the early buzz for the fast-paced cop show and invited media to meet with the show’s cast and creatives.

Actors including Rodger Corser, Catherine McClements, Sam Johnson, Callan Mulvey, mingled with producers John Edwards, Mimi Butler, script producer Christopher Lee and director Andrew Prowse. TEN Executives including David Mott, Rick Maier, Beverly McGarvey were joined by younger actors including Ashley Zukerman, Claire Van Der Boom, Nicole da Silva and Josef Ber.

Other TEN personalities including newsreader Mal Walden, Shane Jacobsen, Angela Bishop and Neighbours’ Caitlin Stasey and Sam Clark were there too, plus guest actors including Adam Zwar and John Brumpton. Axle Whitehead provided the musical entertainment.

Outside the remodelled Barkly Hotel a huge Rush banner hung on the side of the building.

Most of the vibe in the room was directed towards the first and third episodes.

The series kicks off 9:30pm Tuesday on TEN.
