Access 31 for sale

Offers like this don't come around too often. Sadly for WA viewers, the time is up.

The liquidators of community television station Access 31 are offering the station for sale.

The move follows the sudden closure of the station following ongoing financial problems.

Mr Kim D. Holbrook, the liquidator of Channel 31 Community Educational Television Ltd, formerly trading as Access 31, is selling assets from their leased premises at Great Eastern Highway in Belmont.

Items for sale include station, office plant and equipment; a ‘digital ready’ transmitter; library contents and any rights to the Transmission Site Licence and to Community Television Broadcasting Licence which may be transferable.

The purchase of the business is subject to licence approvals and any regulatory requirements.

Community television station Access 31 were forced into liquidation at the beginning of September after members and former staff voted to overlook last-minute rescue offers and send the company into the hands of receivers to pay off debts of an estimated $600,000.

The channel stopped broadcasting in August.

Registrations of interest close 4pm on Friday, September 12.
