Believe it or not I’m walkin’ on air…

Guess which classic TV cast got together for a reunion? And guess what they had to announce?

Yes you really are looking at a reunion of the three leads from The Greatest American Hero – that super-fun superhero who stumbled across a red suit and (almost) learned how to fly.

The cast from the 80’s show re-united at a panel commemorating the Screen Actors Guild foundation’s 75th anniversary where creator Stephen J. Cannell confirmed a feature film is in the works. Woohooo!

“We’ve written a screenplay, and we’ve hired a director, and we’re in the midst of putting this together for the future,” Cannell said.

The director is reportedly Stephen Herek (Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Critters).

After Cannell’s movie announcement, Sellecca took the opportunity to lock in roles for herself and fellow original cast members William Katt and Robert Culp (centre).

“I’m going to put Stephen on the spot,” Sellecca said with a grin. “Cameos for us?”

“Absolutely guaranteed,” Cannell responded. “More than cameos: acting jobs.”

Errrrrrrrrr…….

  1. knox — The show is definitely a keeper, and I hope you get the chance to see it sometime.

PS: I love your username. My favourite character from my favourite movie!

  2. This is one of the few classic series I’ve never seen..will have to download a series or two methinks as it sounds like the kind of show I’d like. Love the theme song though which was a huge hit in the ’80s.

  3. I’ve never seen the show before but I’m hearing about it absolutely everywhere.

It’s great though when a classic series continues on a long time after being cancelled. I just can’t stand it when a remake is done with different people.

  4. William Katt is also writing a comic book about the Greatest American Hero. We’re in an age where superheroes, and 80s remakes, are big business again, so it’s no surprise they’d reawaken their franchise – it’s tailor-made for it.
