Casting: Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty.

Battlestar Galactica's Mary McDonnell for Grey's Anatomy? And the Karate Kid for Ugly Betty?

In casting news today the very fine Mary McDonnell of Battlestar Galactica is in final talks to appear in a multi-episode arc on Grey’s Anatomy next season.

The show is currently shooting its tenth episode, and McDonnell could be filming scenes with the Grey’s cast shortly.

There’s no word yet on what she’ll be up to at Seattle Grace Hospital but it’s possible both her Grey’s and Battlestar eps will be screening at the same time in the US in January.

Meanwhile ’80s icon Ralph Macchio is headed to Ugly Betty. He will appear as city official Archie Rodriguez. Apparently actress Ana Ortiz spilled that news to OK! magazine.

Ugly Betty season three premieres this week in the US but Seven won’t finish season two until December in Oz.

  1. It’s a pity that Ugly Betty won’t air until DECEMBER.

I guess that if that is the case, they should then immediately air Season 3, coz we are WAY behind the US.

  2. Great to see Ralph Macchio again. Now if only Richard Grieco could come back to TV…

The last episode of Ugly Betty shown on 7 was one of the funniest so far. I was so irritated once again to see it taken off. I hope that when I see Season 3, I won’t have to rely on 7!
