Clinton on The View

Bill Clinton will make his first-ever appearance on The View due to air in Australia on Tuesday on Nine and W Channel.

The former president will chat about the Clinton Global Initiative, a non-partisan outreach program that brings together a community of global leaders to create innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges including starvation and HIV/AIDS.

Of course being The View it’s debatable how much airtime will actually be given over to this, but Whoopi Goldberg is likely to keep issues on the table. The real interest will be to see how staunch Republican Elisabeth Hasselbeck (who has defended creationism, the war on terror, and opposed euthanasia and abortion) participates in the chat. Do they have any old clips of her criticising him?

Clinton’s visit is part of the show’s new “Red, White & View” campaign, which promotes civic responsibility in the upcoming election.
