Kym Valentine back to the street

Actress Kym Valentine returns to work on Neighbours after being struck with pneumonia during a mid-season break.

Kym Valentine returns to the shooting Neighbours tomorrow for the first time in a month.

“I feel absolutely wonderful. I can’t wait to get back to work. I have never missed it so much,” she told the Sunday Herald Sun.

“For me, the past month has been like a kind of torture because I have not been able to do anything and I don’t like to sit still.

“But it has been the best thing I could have done and because of it, I feel so happy and strong and well.”

Valentine was struck with pneumonia and a collapsed lung at the end of a mid-year break, taken ill on a flight from the US to Australia. She was rushed to hospital as soon as the plane landed. She became so ill her on-screen character had to be replaced with another actress, Michala Banas.

“I have not been anywhere except at home, at Nunawading (where Neighbours is filmed), at the hospital or at the local IGA since July 4.

“You have no idea how happy I am to be able to go out again.”

She celebrated her pending return a dinner on Friday with colleagues Carla Bonner, Scott Major, Ryan Moloney,  director Nicholas Bufalo and Alan Fletcher’s wife Jennifer Hansen.

  1. Glad to hear Kym is on the mend….I would like to wish her well….I think she is an underestimated actress, I saw her perform in “Dirty Dancing” and her talent showed through. Good luck Kym, stay happy
