“Please welcome Mrs. Ellen DeGeneres”

Ellen opened her sixth season by showing off her wedding ring, and welcoming Michelle Obama and the Jonas Brothers.

…so said the announcer as Ellen DeGeneres returned to television as a married woman. The sixth series is now broadcasting for the first time from Warner Bros Studios and airing in Australia on Nine.

“This is the first time I’ve done the show in a thong,” she laughed, “And it’s my first show as a married lady.”

When DeGeneres, who married Aussie Portia deRossi, showed off her wedding ring she got a standing ovation.

“Who knew John McCain and I would have something in common? We both chose female running mates.”

With guests including Michelle Obama and the Jonas Brothers, The Ellen DeGeneres Show now screens hot off the satellite on all Nine stations at 1pm following The View.

Tomorrow  Ellen will feature exclusive video from her big day.

  1. im so glad this is on free-to-air. Ellen is such a great host, why don’t more people dance just to dance? The Ellen/Portia wedding vid they showed today was beautiful. you can tell they’re so in love 😛

  2. Thanks David, so now so “Exclusive” LOL

Great ti see Ellen, The View and ET are all finally in 16×9, looks so much better a widescreen TV. I guess Arena ia still stuck with 4×3?

  3. I’ll have to catch that show, BTW what delay do the eps on Arena TV have, I noticed it’s still running on there even thought ch9 is advertising “Exclusive to Nine” or something like that.
