Returning: Good News Week

It's back for another block of shows, but first here's a clip show we prepared earlier.

Good News Week is coming back to TEN in October.

The revived panel show defied the odds of a new lease of life and proved it could attract new interest. TEN will bring the show back first with a clip show at 9:30pm Monday October 6.

The new series is currently scheduled to return Monday October 13 at 9:30pm.

Amended.

Press Release:
Network Ten will celebrate the pending return of Good News Week with a special one hour ‘best of’ show featuring highlights of the year to date.

Catch host Paul McDermott alongside team leaders Mikey Robins and Claire Hooper as they decipher,
dissect, deconstruct and hilariously misrepresent news of the year.

Following a hugely successful return to television on Network Ten early in 2008, Good News Week is back from Monday 13th October at 9:30pm.

  1. Tonights show is a classic…!!! I haven’t laughed so hard for so long and thanks to Kevin Rudd and the rest of your team… Keep having the funnies to keep me tuned….

  2. Right before my HSC! Ah well, I’ll watch it anyway. But 9.30 is really too late… Why do people think that 90210 pulls in the younger demographic? Everyone I’ve talked to thinks it is American crap and have been wishing for GNW back. I’m not saying all American programs are bad, but a lot of them are cliched, boring and melodramatic.
Ah well. At least GNW is (finally!) coming back, even if my whole family will no longer be able to watch it together.

  3. So glad to hear GNW will be back soon. Crime/detective/whateveryouwanttocallthem shows like Burn Notice reel in the viewers but there’s just so many of them it irks me. TV has been getting worse and worse over the past 10 years and we need more Australian shows to give the industry a chance to grow.

GNW is great for showcasing some upcoming Aussie performers. Josh Thomas, for example, seems to be doing quite well since his Sideshow and GNW appearances. I think Prime is planning a comedy/variety show, and even though it probably won’t be much good at least it’s something.

Television companies are a business and exist to get viewers and make money. I’m not sure on the numbers, but even if GNW hasn’t been rating fantastically it can’t be any worse than some of the rubbish Ten puts on (just take a look at Taken Out) so hopefully it will be around for a while.

  4. Would it be too much to ask for Ten to actually listen to the fans? I’d love it for someone from the media to come out to bat for the poor Torchwood fans who have been screwed over for well over a year now. Everyone knows the show is huge – only reason it isn’t in Australia is because Ten won’t give it a chance.

  5. It seems like a lot the people here want shows like idol and just about every other show taken of the air in favor of all these American series that you guys have all already seen of the net!
There’s so many American drama shows online all you need to do is throw a rock, cant we use this online explosion of US stuff to use FTA to shop some Aussie shows and try let this industry grow a little bit?
We don’t have their budgets to reach their production standards but we still can tell a decent story.

  6. I don’t think Shark will air on the SD channel at all. Unless its in an 11:30pm timeslot or something. It was axed in the US back in May. It might be on HD at some point
