Chris Lilley’s cable assault

Summer Heights High is about to premiere on HBO, in a plum timeslot.

Summer Heights High gets its US premiere on the Home Box Office (HBO) cable network on Sunday November 9th at 10:30pm. It will follow Entourage.

The promos for the ABC comedy, to air in its original form, suggest the series represents “a new learning curve.” HBO’s site has three clips showcasing Ja’mie, Jonah and Mr. G.

Chris Lilley is said to have headed stateside ahead of the launch.

The 10.30pm Sunday timeslot is currently home to Little Britain USA and was the slot where Sex and the City and Six Feet Under previously aired on HBO.

  1. I think the rights to the original Kath & Kim in the U.S. are owned by the Hallmark channel (don’t quote me on that, but I know that it’s definately been aired in the states), however it would still be cool if HBO picked up the rights to it and gave it the exposure it deserves.

  2. Flight Of The Conchords and now Summer Heights High……Impressive stuff.
Congratulations to Chris Lilley the US market will take to SHH and with success of FOTC it’ll be 2 antipodean hits on HBO.
Jack I agree with you on Kath and Kim the Oz original would be a hit on US TV and HBO would be it’s rightful home.
