Good Game livin in the 80’s

Break out your Pac Man and Galaga. Good Game is looking back at 80's arcade games.

In Monday night’s edition of Good Game on ABC2 they get stuck into all those zany video games we used to play in the 80’s (ok some of us played…). PacMan, Galaga, ET, games that were on Atari and Commodore 64s.

Jeremy “Junglist” Ray and Steven “Bajo” O’Donnell dress up in some pretty bad outfits as they dissect early arcade games, but none so bad as the garb worn by their guest, The Chaser’s Andrew Hanson -he seems intent on outdoing himself with every appearance!

It airs Monday October 6 at 9:00pm, ABC2, repeats Friday October 10 at 12.10am, ABC1 and is available on iView Tuesday October 7.

On Good Game: Shocks the ‘80s, we hit the retro button big time, taking the show back right back to the ‘80s, when video arcades were in their hey-day, and many Australians bought their first home console.

Good Game looks at events that shaped the world’s thinking, and the technological advances in the industry at the time. We chart the decades history from a gamers’ perspective, including a detailed look at some of the best and the worst games of the era. There’s even a visit from avid ‘80s gamer – The Chaser’s Andrew Hanson.

For those gamers that were alive in the ‘80s, this show is a trip down memory lane and, for our younger viewers, it will show them why the ‘80s is such an important time in video game history. We also show off some pretty bad haircuts.

  1. I would like to see this show get some time on ABC1, with most people still not with Digital TV yet. It’s a great show, and many fail to realize just how many “gamers”, or just average people out there who play games, there are nowadays.

  2. CyberShack is pretty much just a glorified series of ads – Good Game is how a gaming show *should* be done, getting to the point and avoiding the sess pool of commercialism.

  3. I’m not what you’d call a gamer, but I love this show. It’s simple, fun and silly in welcome sporadic bursts, and gets to the point quickly. It’s much better than the tech program Cyber Shack.
